Key Responsibilities

• Source, identify, and engage high-caliber candidates across a variety of sectors using multiple recruitment channels, including job boards, LinkedIn, and professional networks relevant to the Recruitment & Staffing industry.
• Conduct thorough candidate screening, interviews, and assessments to evaluate qualifications, experience, and cultural fit for client organizations.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with both clients and candidates, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the entire recruitment lifecycle.
• Develop and manage a robust talent pipeline to meet current and anticipated client hiring needs within the Chicago market and beyond.
• Collaborate closely with the Mercier Consultancy Group team to understand client briefs, role specifications, and organizational requirements, ensuring the highest standard of placement quality.
• Negotiate offers, manage candidate expectations, and facilitate smooth onboarding processes to maximize placement success rates.
• Track and report on key recruitment metrics, including time-to-fill, candidate conversion rates, and client satisfaction, contributing to continuous improvement across the business.
• Stay current with market trends, compensation benchmarks, and talent dynamics within the United States Recruitment & Staffing landscape to provide informed, strategic counsel to clients.

Requirements

• Native or fluent English language proficiency, both spoken and written, is essential for this role.
• Must currently live in Chicago — this is an on-site position based in the city.
• Must have demonstrable experience in recruitment, ideally within the Recruitment & Staffing industry or a closely related field.
• Must be an established freelancer or fully ready and willing to operate as one under a self-employed or independent contractor arrangement.
• Must be comfortable and motivated to work on a commission-based compensation structure with earnings directly tied to placement success.
• Proven ability to manage the full recruitment cycle independently, from sourcing through to successful placement and post-placement follow-up.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills with a client-centric mindset and a results-driven attitude.
• Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), CRM tools, and digital sourcing platforms commonly used in the Recruitment & Staffing industry.
