As a Mechanical Test Engineer, you will be responsible for the prototyping, validation, and performance testing of both mechanical and electrical components within our hybrid energy systems and power equipment. This role requires a hands-on approach to ensure our products meet or exceed quality standards. When testing operations are complete, you will utilize your CAD skills to support the engineering team with product and accessory design for the equipment rental industry.
The position is fully onsite, and the work schedule is weekdays from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. This role reports to the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer.
### Role & Responsibilities:
System Validation: Conduct comprehensive prototyping and testing on ANA's hybrid energy systems, battery storage, and generators.
Hands-On Assembly & Testing: Physically assemble, wire, and tear down prototype units, test fixtures, and mechanical enclosures. Take a hands-on approach to building and modifying equipment to conduct rigorous performance and validation testing on the floor.
Electrical Testing: Perform rigorous load bank testing to validate the electrical performance of EBOSS™ energy systems and generators, uncovering weaknesses in power systems and ensuring reliability before manufacturing.
Mechanical Testing: Test the structural integrity, enclosures, and functional performance of EBOSS™ energy systems, AIRMAN air compressors, and generators to evaluate designs for manufacturability.
CAD & Engineering Support: Utilize 2D/3D CAD software (SolidWorks and AutoCAD) to create 3D models and 2D drawings to support manufacturing, test fixtures, and accessory design. Develop electrical schematics, design wire harnesses, and create comprehensive wiring diagrams for integration across multiple power systems.
Testing Documentation & Clerical Duties: Meticulously draft, review, and maintain comprehensive test reports, validation logs, and procedural documentation. Perform routine clerical responsibilities to ensure all testing records, compliance documents, and engineering files are accurately organized, updated, and archived within our systems.
Data Analysis & Technical Writing: Conduct data analysis on test results to identify process improvements, optimize efficiency, and generate technical documentation such as TRF’s, BOMs, standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, DVP&R, and user manuals.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with design engineers and product managers to develop product specifications and requirements based on testing outcomes.
