As our Facilities Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring that Zip UK’s sites run smoothly, safely and compliantly. You will be the go-to person for all things related to our facilities. Based at our Dereham office and reporting to the Operations team, you will manage the day-to-day operations across our office, warehouse and legacy sites. This includes working closely with suppliers and contractors, overseeing health & safety compliance, handling maintenance tasks, and managing budgets. The facilities manager will ensure high standards are maintained across all sites, drive strong supplier performance and promote proactive maintenance. This hands-on position perfectly balances operational work with coordination and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the day‑to‑day delivery of facilities operations across office, warehouse, and legacy sites
- Act as the primary point of contact for all facilities issues, ensuring sites are safe, compliant, and well presented
- Manage access control, security systems, alarms, and internal space requirements
- Manage third‑party suppliers and contractors, setting SLAs and monitoring performance
- Ensure all facilities compliance and statutory obligations are met, including health & safety and environmental standards
- Maintain accurate compliance records and support audits and inspections
- Own planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and manage reactive maintenance to minimise disruption
- Oversee key building infrastructure and maintenance contracts
- Manage facilities budgets, track spend, and identify cost‑saving opportunities
- Support facilities projects, lease exits, dilapidations, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Act as the central coordination point for facilities activity, working closely with internal teams and leadership
Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience in a facilities, site, or operations role
- Strong organisational and multitasking capability
- Ability to manage multiple suppliers and priorities simultaneously
- Practical, hands-on approach with a proactive mindset
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable
- IOSH qualification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience managing compliance and audits
- Exposure to budgeting and cost control
- Experience in warehouse or multi-site environments
