Job Description
The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting the daily functions of the HR department by providing HR administrative & people support for both California Closets Fulfillment centers and CCO Operations, in partnership with the HR Business Partners & local site leadership. This role will serve as a partner to not only the HR function but also manufacturing and operations leadership specific to team member engagement, communications, onboarding & orientation, and training.
Job Highlight: This is an entry level HR Generalist position.
- We're located on 9704 W Roosevelt St, Tolleson, AZ 85353, USA.
- This position is on-site M-F 8am-5pm, flexing possible 3rd shift hours as needed.
- The pay rate for this position is $30-$33/hr + 5% bonus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Support HR Business Partners & local site leadership in HR related administrative & support tasks.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, payroll, benefits, leave programs, records, documentation, and training.
- Responsible for site HRIS people changes through the usage of HRIS workflows and/or Action Forms.
- Partners with local leadership and Talent Acquisition to manage open positions, requisitions, and general headcount requirements for supported facility.
- Coordinates the new hire onboarding process including HRIS, background check systems, and I9 compliance.
- Organizes & leads New Hire Orientation with incoming new hires
- Maintains tracking and completion of new hires first 90-day milestones such as 30/60/90-day reviews, 10/45/90-day Feedback, Quality Training, and other required new hire tasks, for assigned facility.
- Supports local team members with basic HR questions and requests such as payroll issues, benefits, LOA needs, PTO, etc.
- Provides support for XMC new hire training and cross-training certification resources, administration, and tracking.
- Maintains team member documentation & personnel files, manage digital files.
- Maintains site job descriptions, org charts, metrics, templates, and transactional items
- Supports team member accessibility of IT systems and HR applications.
- Process unemployment claims for organization.
- Create, support, align, and drive engagement initiatives with local leadership & team members.
- Facilitate stay and exit surveys, new hire feedback reviews, and communicate/apply learnings.
- Support HR communications such as Team Member CCTV, bulletin boards, posters, pre-shift slides, weekly and/or monthly newsletters or updates.
- Supports the building & delivery of site communications such as Town Halls, initiative launches, policy rollouts, etc.
- Maintain engagement programs and guide team leaders on appropriate team member recognition programs (service anniversaries, birthdays, other peer and team leader recognition, attendance awards, etc.)
- Plan and support company-sponsored engagement events through the Culture Committee (lunches, annual events, monthly events, and recognition, etc.)
- Work collaboratively with all HR colleagues to establish and maintain standardized HR processes, company policies, and compliance to optimize HR effectiveness
- Serve as a first point of contact for team member questions and concerns, ensuring appropriate documentation and escalation to HR Business Partners for investigation or corrective action as required
- Support HR Business Partners in investigations and documented corrective action plans as needed.
- Provide basic consultation and guidance for team leaders and team members on company policies and processes.
- Partner with local leadership to maintain, apply, and communicate attendance point system and policies.
- Coordinate and lead required annual compliance training (Harassment, IT Security, etc.)
- Provide seamless collaboration with Shared Services and Total Rewards in areas such as payroll, benefits, LOA, and legal support.
- Partners with EH&S to support proper management, compliance and communication of safety and Workers Compensation related matters
- Supports the ongoing compliance with all legal and procedural requirements.
Qualifications
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3-5 years of HR experience
- Bachelor's degree required; PHR/SHRM-CP or SPHR/SHRM-SCP certification preferred

- Culture & Engagement. Development and leading engagement initiatives for both plants and CCO’s, including the CCTV communication, monthly and quarterly events, and recognition platform.
- New Hire Orientation (XMC) Creation and maintenance of accurate orientation responsibilities in partnership with XMC hiring team leaders.
- Document Control. Maintenance of all team member documents.

- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with other HR software strongly desired
- Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Ability to communicate politely, clearly and professionally with clients.
- Self-starter and ability to manage own schedule and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Must possess strong critical thinking, problem solving, time management, and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Company office location, in a manufacturing environment (Tolleson, AZ or Grand Rapids, MI).
- Ability to travel (4 trips per year) to team planning meetings, CCO locations and the manufacturing plants.
