Job Description
The Production Supervisor will report to the EVP, Global Supply Chain and will be responsible to meet the on-time delivery sub-assembly, power assembly, and final product. He/she will lead and coach the assembly staff; creating an environment of continuous improvement to meet quality and delivery commitments. This role requires fluid collaboration across materials, planning, manufacturing engineering, and test.
• Cross over and collaborate with 2nd shift supervisor to assure flawless daily communication. • Manage and balance the assembly and sub-assembly capacity and cycle times to assure delivery to the plan. • Work closely with Master Scheduler and Planning to execute to the commits. Critical focus on in-housework orders and material shortage processes. • Assure compliance to shift schedule, recommend overtime as needed, and secure commits to be reviewed with Manager.
• Lead and guide daily assembly operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, resource utilization, and employee performance and satisfaction.
• Conduct daily start‑of‑shift stand‑up meetings covering safety, quality, production status, and customer commitments.
• Collaborate closely with the 2nd‑shift supervisor to ensure seamless communication and continuity during handover.
• Manage and balance assembly and sub‑assembly capacity and cycle times to meet delivery targets.
• Work with the Master Scheduler and Planning team to execute production commitments, with key focus on in‑house work orders and material shortage resolution.
• Ensure compliance with shift schedules, recommend overtime when required, and review commitments with the Manager.
• Ensure all assembly equipment, procedures, and employee practices comply with safety protocols, and perform all required health and safety audits.
• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for ERP production transactions, with strong proficiency in planning and inventory processes.
• Effectively use the PDM system to support production activities and understand ECO‑driven changes.
• Train production associates and coordinate support from other functional teams when needed.
• Improve product and process quality through continuous improvement initiatives, including structured problem‑solving, LEAN, and 6S. Conduct 6S audits and hold yourself and the team accountable for daily improvements.
• Implement consistent, robust ESD procedures across all assembly operations.
• Provide feedback, coaching, and accountability to team members in areas of safety, quality, workflow, LEAN practices, and overall job performance.
• Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
Qualifications
- Have at least 5 years of experience leading assembly operations in a manufacturing environment.
- Degree in Business Management preferred
- Proven on the ground experience utilizing structured problem solving, LEAN, and 6S to transform operations.
- Ability to manage conflict and difficult performance issues.
- Strong knowledge and skilled with computer applications, MRP, ERP, and Microsoft Office.
- Intermediate skill with Excel is essential.
- Knowledge of manufacturing controls required – Capacity planning, inventory control, Bills of Materials, Engineering drawings and Change Orders, Document Control, and Work Instructions.
- Able to coach and lead employees.
- Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and a tenacious follow through.
- Is comfortable with reaching beyond role/ scope to drive improvement and growth.
- Proven ability to perform effectively in dynamic environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Ability to lift to 50lbs.
