Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Pay Rate: Up to $32.00/hour, depending on experience
Position Overview
We are seeking a Quality Control Inspector with experience in structural steel fabrication to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring fabricated steel components, welding, and coatings meet customer specifications, industry codes, and company quality standards.
This is a hands-on position that requires significant time on the production floor. Candidates should be comfortable working in an active manufacturing environment with minimal office work and exposure to varying temperatures.
### Key ResponsibilitiesRequired
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in structural steel fabrication.
- Experience in quality control, inspection, or a related manufacturing role.
- Working knowledge of AWS D1.1, AWS D1.5, and AISC standards.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications.
- Experience using quality inspection tools, including:
- Fillet weld gauges
- V-WAC gauges
- Squares
- Tape measures
- Other standard inspection equipment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
- Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
- Experience with nondestructive testing methods, including:
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
- Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
- Penetrant Testing (PT)
- Additional certifications related to structural steel fabrication, bolting, coatings, or welding inspection.
- Previous experience in steel manufacturing environments.
