Job Description
We are looking for a highly commercially driven Global Service Contracts & Programmes Manager to lead and manage a portfolio of complex service contracts for key global customers, with a particular focus on defence maintenance contracts with the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD).
In this pivotal role, you’ll act as the primary customer interface, ensuring the successful delivery of contracts while driving financial performance, operational excellence, and long-term growth. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with service, sales, and supply chain teams to deliver results that exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end commercial and financial performance of service contracts, including revenue, cost, margin, and profitability targets
- Develop a deep understanding of contract requirements to optimise performance and delivery outcomes
- Establish and manage KPIs across revenue, cost, delivery performance, and customer satisfaction
- Lead forecasting, budgeting, and demand planning activities
- Produce and manage programme schedules covering installations, maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and engineering changes
- Ensure all contracts are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed service levels
- Act as the main point of contact for customers, leading regular contract review meetings
- Oversee subcontractor performance and ensure effective flow-down of contractual requirements
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiencies and reduce costs
- Manage contract risks, changes, renewals, and renegotiations
- Support growth by developing costed proposals and identifying new business opportunities
- Maintain robust audit trails and ensure compliance with UK MoD requirements
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven experience managing high-value (£m) service contracts within the UK MoD
- Strong understanding of MoD contracting practices and Single Source Regulations
- Background in programme/project management and service delivery
- Experience within maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) in a defence setting
- Excellent financial and commercial acumen, including cost management and forecasting
- Ability to analyse performance data and drive informed decision-making
- Strong risk management, contract negotiation, and change management skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- Programme Management Qualification desirable
- Eligible to obtain UK SC level clearance.
