Envision Employment Solutions is currently looking for a Maintenance Engineer for one of our partners, a global leader in Information Technology Services & Consulting!
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Engineer is directly responsible for the hands-on configuration, maintenance and support for the audio, video and film studio production equipment, typically the Video Playback devices not the IT equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop knowledge of audio, video, film and IT systems and assist in supporting the specific needs for these systems
- Assist studio supervisors and engineering team with video equipment installation and set-up, and maintenance to ensure technical signal quality standards are being met
- Perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of audio, video, & film studio equipment, computers, and IT room computer hardware
- Perform audio and video equipment and systems setup, gain structure, processing and leveling
- Perform and document regularly scheduled preventative maintenance procedures, escalating and resolving issues with equipment
- Identify and correct causes of equipment and system failures, document all incidents, and recommend means of preventing equipment and system failures.
- Perform first tier VTR maintenance; including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, alignment, board exchange, and coordination of vendor out-sourced maintenance
- Frequently moves various equipment into and out of their assigned racks.
- Network configuration of AV devices
- Communicate with third parties, such as the equipment vendors and or program providers, to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Recommend appropriate solutions including vendor repair, in-house repair or equipment replacement.
- Specify parts to be ordered for repairs.
Requirements
Education & Professional Background:
- Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Broadcast Engineering, Media Technology, or a related technical field.
- Relevant technical certifications in broadcast engineering, audiovisual systems, electronics repair, networking, or equipment maintenance are an advantage.
- Hands-on technical background in audio, video, film, broadcast, or studio production environments is highly preferred.
Experience Requirements:
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in audiovisual maintenance, broadcast engineering, studio engineering, technical operations, or equipment support.
- Proven experience maintaining, configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing audio, video, film, or studio production equipment.
- Experience supporting video playback devices, VTRs, signal routing equipment, broadcast audio/video systems, or similar production hardware.
- Previous experience working in a broadcaster, post-production facility, media production studio, digitization facility, archive, AV service provider, or technical operations environment is highly preferred.
- Experience coordinating with vendors, equipment suppliers, or outsourced maintenance providers for repair, replacement, and technical support activities.
Technical Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of broadcast audio, video, film, and studio production equipment.
- Ability to install, configure, test, and maintain video playback devices and related AV systems.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, board exchange, alignment, equipment inspection, and technical fault diagnosis.
- Understanding of audio and video signal quality standards, gain structure, signal processing, leveling, and system calibration.
- Ability to configure AV devices on a network and understand basic IP/networking concepts related to AV equipment.
