Software Engineer

You will:

• Design, develop, modify, and/or test software needed for various state-of-the-art self-driving vehicle applications and related products at Waymo. Duties include:

  • Develop infrastructure and frameworks for generating reliable, high quality data for foundation models; 
  • Deploy and maintain end-to-end data pipelines that deliver the foundation model data; 
  • Curate and deliver data sets, for both nominal and rare instances, that support the diverse ML tasks for foundation models; 
  • Collaborate with foundation model, Perception evaluation, and ML infrastructure teams to integrate data generation into model training and evaluation frameworks; and 
  • Collaborate with production teams to deploy foundation models in deployment settings; and Responsible for infrastructure reliability, data availability, and data quality

You have:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineer-related occupation.
• Position requires one year of experience in the following: 

1. C++ and Python;
2. Apache Spark, Apache Beam, and Google Cloud Dataflow;
3. AWS Data Pipeline or Faiss; and
4. ML data engineering, data pipelines, data curation, and data balancing

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Salary Range $200,000 - $216,000 USD
