  • Location: Observatory House/ Slough Hybrid (minimum 2 days per week in the office)

What you’ll be doing:

Join Slough Borough Council as a Finance Manager and play a key role in delivering strong financial stewardship and sustainable public services. You will support senior leaders and Members with clear, evidence-based financial advice, helping to shape decisions, manage budgets, and ensure value for money across services.

Working at the centre of the organisation, you will contribute to strategic planning, financial modelling, and service transformation, while identifying risks and opportunities in a complex local government environment. You will also lead and develop staff, promoting high professional standards and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

This is an opportunity for a qualified finance professional to make a tangible impact, influencing decisions and supporting the delivery of effective, financially resilient services for the residents of Slough.

Annual increments, where applicable, are usually payable on 1st April each year, subject to six months service in the post, until the maximum spinal column point of the level has been reached. The payment of annual increments is not automatic and is subject to satisfactory performance as assessed by your Director.
