A Brief Overview 
We are seeking a visionary Senior Principal Systems Engineer to architect, govern, and transform our Microsoft 365 ecosystem, AI-powered solutions, and custom digital platforms. This senior technical leadership role owns the strategic direction, security, compliance, and engineering excellence across our collaboration platform, AI capabilities, and business applications. You will define the 3-5 year roadmap, lead enterprise-scale migrations, lead digital transformations, architect full-stack and AI solutions, and establish governance frameworks that enable secure, modern work and intelligent transformation. This is a hands-on technical leadership position requiring deep expertise across M365, AI/ML platforms, full-stack development, and exceptional cross-functional influence. 
 
What you will do 

  • AI Solution Architecture & Copilot Leadership 
  • Copilot Solution Architecture 
  • Lead architectural design sessions to translate business requirements into comprehensive, secure, and scalable AI solution roadmaps 
  • Define governance models and "safety rails" for Copilot usage across Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and custom applications 
  • Architect security and compliance measures (data loss prevention, access controls) using Microsoft Purview and Entra ID 
  • Design integration strategies between Copilot and enterprise systems (CRM, ERP, Microsoft Fabric, Synapse) using APIs and connectors 
  • Serve as technical bridge between executive stakeholders and delivery teams, communicating complex AI architecture decisions 
  • Develop AI adoption frameworks, usage policies, and ROI measurement strategies 
  • Copilot Solution Development Leadership 
  • Oversee development of custom Copilot agents, plugins, and connectors using Copilot Studio and Microsoft Graph API 
  • Establish development patterns for AI-powered workflows using Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, and SharePoint Framework (SPFx) 
  • Implement DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for AI solution lifecycle management 
  • Design secure data integration patterns enabling Copilot solutions to access enterprise data sources 
  • Lead troubleshooting and performance optimization of AI implementations 
  • Develop testing frameworks for AI solutions including prompt validation and output accuracy 

SharePoint Framework Architecture & Development Leadership 

  • SharePoint Framework Solution Architecture 
  • Design enterprise-scale SPFx architecture including information architecture, site structures, and security models 
  • Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and solution designs 
  • Define and enforce governance policies for SharePoint environments and custom solutions 
  • Architect integration patterns between SharePoint and enterprise systems (CRM, ERP, Power Platform, Azure services) 
  • Lead strategic planning for large-scale migrations from SharePoint on-premises to SharePoint Online 
  • Establish development standards, component libraries, and reusable patterns for SPFx solutions 
  • SharePoint Framework Development Oversight 
  • Guide development of custom SPFx solutions using TypeScript, React, Node.js, and modern web technologies 
  • Establish patterns for custom web parts, extensions, application pages, and user interfaces 
  • Implement Graph API and RESTful service integrations following architectural designs 
  • Define testing methodologies and quality standards for SharePoint applications 
  • Oversee ongoing maintenance, support, and evolution of SharePoint solutions 
  • Ensure documentation standards for technical specifications and user guides   

Full-Stack Solution Architecture & Development 

  • Full-Stack Web Application Development: Design, architect, and oversee development of modern web applications using React, Vite, TypeScript, and .NET Web API 
  • Backend Architecture: Lead design of scalable .NET Web APIs with Entity Framework Core, implementing clean architecture patterns 
  • Database Design: Architect relational database schemas (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Azure SQL) with optimal performance and data integrity 
  • Frontend Excellence: Establish patterns for component libraries, state management, and responsive design systems 
  • DevOps Integration: Implement CI/CD pipelines for full-stack applications using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions 
  • Integration Patterns: Design secure integration patterns between custom applications and M365/AI services  

Power Platform Solution Architecture & Governance 

  • Enterprise Solution Architecture: Design complex Power Platform solutions spanning Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Power Pages 
  • Governance Framework Development: Establish enterprise governance for Power Platform including environment strategy, DLP policies, and solution lifecycle management 
  • Center of Excellence (COE) Leadership: Define and lead the Power Platform COE, establishing best practices and citizen developer enablement 
  • Solution Delivery Oversight: Architect enterprise-grade Power Platform solutions with focus on scalability, security, and maintainability 
  • ALM Implementation: Implement Application Lifecycle Management processes using Azure DevOps and solution packages 
  • Performance Optimization: Design performance optimization patterns for Power Apps and Power Automate solutions 

Enterprise Architecture & Strategic Planning 

  • Architect long-term technical strategy for Microsoft 365 ecosystem with AI-first design principles 
  • Develop enterprise architecture blueprints, reference architectures, and integration patterns 
  • Ensure architectural alignment with Zero Trust principles, modern identity, and compliance requirements 
  • Partner with CIO/CTO to shape 3-5 year digital workplace and AI transformation strategy 
  • Provide authoritative guidance on Microsoft's product direction and emerging technologies 

Large-Scale Transformation & Migration Leadership 

  • Lead multi-year, business-critical migrations including SharePoint on-premises to Online, Slack→Teams, and tenant consolidations 
  • Design migration strategies, risk mitigation plans, and cutover procedures 
  • Select and oversee migration tooling (ShareGate, AvePoint, PowerShell automation) 
  • Manage cross-functional engineering teams during transformation initiatives 
  • Communicate progress and risks to senior leadership and business stakeholders 

Security, Compliance & Governance 

  • Define and implement DLP policies across M365, AI solutions, and custom applications 
  • Design information protection strategies including sensitivity labeling and retention policies 
  • Ensure compliance with SOX, SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and other regulatory frameworks 
  • Serve as technical lead during security audits and assessments 
  • Establish governance frameworks for AI usage, data handling, and solution development 

Identity & Access Engineering 

  • Architect Conditional Access policies for internal, guest, partner, and AI system access 
  • Design and implement MFA, risk-based access, and device trust requirements 
  • Lead enterprise rollout of Entra ID Governance and automated lifecycle management 
  • Architect secure identity patterns for AI agents and automated workflows 

Digital Workplace Platform Architecture & Leadership 

  • Simpplr Intranet as a Service Platform Expertise 
  • Architect and govern enterprise-wide Simpplr intranet implementation as the central digital employee experience platform 
  • Design and implement comprehensive governance models for Simpplr including content architecture, site management, user permissions, and lifecycle policies 
  • Lead integration strategy between Simpplr and Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Teams, SharePoint, Viva Connections) for seamless employee experience 
  • Develop and enforce governance for Simpplr analytics, AI features, and engagement tools 
  • Design custom widget development and integration patterns using Simpplr's extensibility framework 
  • Lead Simpplr platform upgrades, feature adoption strategies, and performance optimization 
  • Establish content migration strategies from legacy intranets to Simpplr platform 
  • Design employee journey mapping and personalization strategies within Simpplr 

Enterprise Integration Architecture

  • Oracle HCM to Informatica HIP to AWS Integration Expertise 
  • Architect and govern end-to-end integration between Oracle HCM, Informatica HIP (Intelligent Health Platform), and AWS services 
  • Design secure, scalable integration patterns for sensitive HR and healthcare data flows 
  • Lead technical design for real-time and batch data synchronization between Oracle HCM, Informatica HIP, and AWS data lakes/warehouses 
  • Design and implement error handling, monitoring, and alerting strategies for critical integration pipelines 
  • Establish data lineage, quality controls, and audit trails across the integration ecosystem 
  • Optimize integration performance and scalability for global enterprise operations 
  • Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans for critical HR/healthcare integrations

Education Qualifications

The preferred location for this role is Atlanta, GA, and the salary range for this location is $122,200.00 to $268,900.00.  All qualified external applicants will be considered for an in-office role, based in Atlanta.  All qualified internal candidates are encouraged to apply and consider relocation to Atlanta and may be considered for remote hire at the company’s discretion. The candidate’s final salary offer will be based on the candidate’s skills, education, work location and experience.

A candidate’s compensation may also include bonuses consistent with TriNet’s corporate bonus plan.
