Position Summary
The Events Assistant supports the planning and execution of campus events and daily operations. This role serves as a primary point of contact for smaller events and meetings, assists with larger signature events, and helps ensure a welcoming, well-maintained campus environment. The ideal candidate is organized, personable, and comfortable handling both front-facing guest interactions and behind-the-scenes logistics.
Key Responsibilities
Event Support & ExecutionServe as the primary point of contact for smaller campus events and meetingsAssist designated points of contact with event execution for larger eventsManage guest check-in for large events with external attendeesConduct pre-event follow-ups with vendors, speakers, and talent as neededRun event-related errands before, during, and after events
Campus Operations & HospitalityAct as a charismatic and professional campus greeter for guests and visitorsCoordinate with operations staff to maintain a high-quality campus appearance on a daily basis
Inventory & LogisticsOrganize and maintain event inventory, with particular attention to post-event breakdown and storageEnsure event materials are properly accounted for and ready for future use
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentComfortable working with vendors, guests, faculty, and staffAbility to lift and move heavy objects as needed for event setup and breakdownWillingness and flexibility to work occasional evenings, early mornings, weekends, or odd hours based on event needs
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in events, hospitality, campus operations, or customer-facing roles
Physical & Schedule Requirements
Must be able to lift, carry, and move event materialsMust be available to work non-standard hours as required by the event schedule
