The Quality Control Technician ensures that completed vehicles meet defined quality standards through final inspections and functional testing. This role supports continuous improvement by identifying non-conformances, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues.

Responsibilites
What You'Ll Be Doing:
- Performs final inspections and functional testing on completed trucks to ensure compliance with defined standards.
- Inspects and tests materials, components, and systems (e.g., wiring, welding, paint) to verify quality specifications.
- Documents inspection results accurately and reports non-conformances.
- Segregates, contains, and escalates quality issues for resolution.
- Follows established quality control procedures and supports continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain organized inspection records and contribute to data accuracy in quality systems.
- Complies with safety regulations and internal standards, and internal processes.
- Supports audits and compliance checks related to manufacturing quality.
- Supports the Quality Control Supervisor in achieving department goals and meeting customer expectations.
Qualifications
What You'Ll Need For Success:
- High school diploma or GED; technical training or experience in manufacturing, heavy equipment, or quality preferred.
- Class 1, 2, or 3 vehicle license preferred.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in vehicle or heavy equipment manufacturing, preferably with hydrovac or similar platforms.
- Hands-on experience with in-process inspections, audits, and quality incident investigations. · Exposure to welding, hydraulics, electronics, coatings/painting, and electromechanical systems is highly valued.
- Experience supporting CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency with measuring tools and methods.
- Ability to maintain accurate inspection records and prepare quality reports.
- Proficiency with digital applications such as SharePoint, Outlook, Adobe and ERP software is considered an asset.
- Skilled in identifying defects and implementing corrective actions.
- Exposure to lean manufacturing principles and six sigma methodologies is considered an asset.
- Effective verbal and written communication for reporting and team collaboration.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Comfortable working in dynamic environments with shifting priorities.
- The role requires mobility within work environments, use of office equipment, lifting to 20 pounds, clear vision and hearing, effective communication skills, and occasional travel for meetings and training sessions.
