Job Description
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a high performing Operations Manager to join us and manage our Commercial Fleet in Hamilton. The role works alongside the established management and leadership team in the branch, in a region which has been set up to provide a strong regional support network.
Job responsibilities include -
- Managing full operational and financial performance across multiple sites and mid-sized teams
- Leading a strong health and safety culture, including compliance, tool maintenance, and daily practices
- Overseeing fleet operations, including route optimization, truck management, and staff coordination
- Ensuring site and vehicle maintenance complies with regulatory standards
- Maintaining strong relationships with municipal and commercial partners
- Driving day-to-day operational efficiency and consistent service delivery
Qualifications
The person we are looking for must have a high health and safety performance record, a customer service focus, and operational excellence background to provide and maintain a safe and efficient workplace for our team and customers. Ideally you will have had exposure to working in a fast changing, multifaceted workplace where your strong organisational skills have been tried and tested. A company vehicle will be provided for the role, considering the travel requirements across the region.
Key Characteristics:
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to communicate to all levels of the business in both written and verbal settings
- Experience interpreting the P&L and ability to speak to variances
- A high level of business acumen
- Experience in transport, logistics or the waste industry would be preferred.
