As the Business Analyst you will be part of the team responsible for building and supporting core business applications for UMG Australia. With your proven BA experience and Application Support skills, you will continue to increase the value from existing systems, as well as being a key part of identifying new opportunities to deliver value across various teams within the business. 

Strong Business Analysts skills are needed to help guide requirements, building relationships within the business and presenting deliverables in clear language – then project managing these into successful business cases for budget and project completion using a combination of internal resources and external partners. Hands-on administration of some systems like Salesforce.com, different reporting/dashboarding applications as well as SQL admin and ETL tools. 

Application Support across a wide range of business applications is another key part of this role, resolving issues within the team and partnering with Global UMG teams to solve issues in a timely manner. 

Technical background together with excellent communication skills are important parts of this role, dealing with customers across the business and being able to communicate clearly and with impact. 

Job Functions

  • Managing business applications day to day, resolving support cases around access and performance as a key part of the Applications Services team. Interacting with global IT teams for assistance and development of projects and cases. 
  • Administering systems for continual improvements and making sure the systems keep up with the changing music industry and the needs of the business. 
  • DBA work involves managing data in and out of the organisation as well as how data is stored and represented to systems for insight and analysis. 
  • Business analysis – partnering with the business on process mapping, guiding the conversation on options for technology, designing solutions and defining the benefits into a successful business case for funding approval. 
  • Striving to update the technology stack to take advantage of new tools and systems, reducing risk and costs. 
  • Keeping up with the latest technological developments in relevant areas, taking responsibility for your own learning and helping others on the same journey by sharing information and supporting a culture of collaboration and learning. 
  • Relationship management both internally in the local business, global IT community within UMG as well as external partners. 

Job Requirements

Skills/Abilities:

  • Sql Skills – Db Admin, Stored Procedure Development, Scheduling. Cloud Db Solutions From Aws, Azure, Gbq And Ms Sql Server.

  • Salesforce.com administration / development and managing custom-built business applications. 
  • Business Intelligence platform experience, Google Looker, Business Objects, MODLR, Domo or similar 
  • ETL/Automation tools for data integration, automation, building robust processes. 
  • Project management skills, high attention to detail and experience with collaboration tools such as Monday.com 
  • High level of initiative, self-motivated to deliver on projects and moving forward. An enthusiastic attitude towards learning how the various teams within UMG operate and to identify opportunities for improvement. 
  • Team player attitude, friendly and respectful towards others and open to sharing information and mentoring others as part of a bigger Tech team. 
  • Change management experience is important, as an industry leader we are constantly moving forward. 

Experience/Educatation:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT related field  
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in IT with a focus on BA and App Support work. 
  • Experience dealing with end users / business users translating technical terms and outcomes into clear language, proven track record in being an enthusiastic force for good.
