ATI is seeking an experienced and highly organized Paralegal to join our Law Department in Dallas, TX. This is an onsite position in our Dallas office 5 days per week. This onsite position is ideal for a legal generalist who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys handling a wide variety of legal tasks. The Paralegal will provide advanced support across multiple areas, including litigation, real estate, insurance, environmental compliance, intellectual property, and legal operations. Acting as a key liaison among internal and external stakeholders, this role will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient management of ATI’s diverse legal matters and in supporting the operational, compliance, and technology initiatives across the Law Department.
Key Responsibilities:
Litigation Support & Insurance Claims Management
- Assign matters to outside counsel and serve as the primary point of contact for outside counsel regarding billing, corporate representative depositions, and case strategy coordination.
- Receive and process service of complaints; coordinate with CT Corporation to maintain accurate service lists.
- Assist with discovery responses and document productions.
- Maintain litigation tracking charts and claim databases to ensure lawyers are informed of case posture and deadlines.
- Evaluate requests for settlement authority and support internal approvals process.
- Administer and manage legal hold processes, including training and compliance tracking.
Insurance & Risk Management
- Handle tendering of claims to insurers and coordinate responses to insurer inquiries in collaboration with ATI’s insurance broker.
- Support environmental claims management, including tendering environmental claims to insurers.
Real Estate & Environmental Support
- Research deeds, GIS databases, and tax records to confirm or establish real property ownership.
- Assist in maintaining a database of real properties owned and leased by the company.
- Use online research tools and publicly available databases to obtain copies of environmental permits, permit applications, and associated documentation.
- Utilize e-filing and regulatory databases (e.g., Envirofacts, ECHO, EPA Central Data Exchange, and similar state and local systems) for research and compliance purposes.
- Provide assistance in responding to sustainability surveys, including Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), EcoVadis, and unique customer sustainability requests, and preparing sustainability reports.
Intellectual Property Support
- Support management of ATI’s intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and related filings.
- Assist with internal reviews of invention disclosures, trademark usage, and related IP documentation.
General Legal Support
- Support the Legal Department with ad hoc projects including but not limited to M&A, commercial contracts, corporate governance and compliance matters as needed.
- Serve as system administrator and primary point of contact for document management and e-billing platforms.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program strongly preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of paralegal experience, with previous in-house experience preferred.
- Experience with iManage, Legal Tracker, Exterro, Litera, and AuditBoard preferred.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication, relationship management, and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail, discretion, and professionalism in handling sensitive matters.
