Job Description
At Endava, we’re growing our Google Cloud practice to help clients design, secure, and scale their digital ecosystems. As a GCP Apigee Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing and managing API platforms built on Google Cloud’s Apigee - both Apigee X (cloud) and Apigee Edge for Private Cloud (on-premises) - enabling seamless connectivity between systems and applications. You will work closely with cloud architects, developers, and client stakeholders to deliver modern, secure, and scalable API solutions aligned with business needs.
You’ll bring strong technical expertise in API management and Google Cloud infrastructure, ensuring that the APIs we build are robust, performant, and future-proof. This role requires a hands-on engineer with a problem-solving mindset, passion for automation, and deep understanding of modern cloud-native practices.
Role Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage Apigee Edge and Apigee X environments, including proxies, shared flows, policies, and API products.
- Configure and manage API gateways, OAuth security, and traffic management policies to ensure reliability and compliance.
- Collaborate with solution architects to design secure, scalable, and reusable API architectures that integrate with backend systems and GCP services.
- Automate deployment pipelines for Apigee configurations using CI/CD tools (e.g., Cloud Build, Jenkins, Terraform).
- Troubleshoot and optimize API performance, monitoring logs and metrics via Stackdriver (Cloud Logging/Monitoring) and Apigee Analytics.
- Implement API lifecycle management, including versioning, governance, and documentation best practices.
- Work with GCP infrastructure teams to ensure networking, IAM, and security configurations align with enterprise standards.
- Provide technical leadership during migrations from Apigee Edge to Apigee X, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
- Partner with client teams to enable developer portal onboarding, API monetization, and self-service enablement.
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, reusable templates, and best practices for API and integration engineering.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Proven hands-on experience with Apigee X and/or Apigee Edge, including configuration, deployment, and administration.
- Strong understanding of API design principles, RESTful standards, and OAuth 2.0 / JWT security.
- Experience with GCP infrastructure services (e.g., Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, IAM, VPC, Cloud Load Balancing, Pub/Sub).
- Familiarity with Terraform, Cloud Build, or other automation frameworks for infrastructure-as-code.
- Understanding of CI/CD, DevOps practices, and GitOps workflows.
- Good knowledge of networking, DNS, SSL/TLS, and identity federation.
- Strong problem-solving, documentation, and troubleshooting skills.
- Google Cloud certification (e.g., Professional Cloud Developer) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work in cross-functional, distributed teams.
- Fluency in English; Polish language proficiency is mandatory.
