About the role
Nium’s Direct Debit product is becoming a cornerstone of how global platforms manage recurring funding, subscription collections, and orchestrated payout flows. As we scale from 5 to 20 markets, we’re building a product that meets the needs of the most sophisticated platforms in payroll, fintech, SaaS, and banking.
We’re hiring a Staff Product Manager to lead this global expansion — launching faster and programmable variants, enabling risk-tiered deployment, and unlocking new use cases for large enterprise clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the roadmap for Direct Debits across both funding and collections.
  • Expand product coverage from 5 to 20 markets, guided by client demand and risk/revenue alignment.
  • Launch programmable, faster settlement options and orchestrated flows (e.g., retries, on-demand billing).
  • Align with Risk, Ops, and Legal on return handling, SLAs, and regulated rollout criteria.
  • Partner with third-party providers where needed to accelerate corridor expansion.
  • Work closely with enterprise clients to support high-value flows across global regions.

Requirements

  • 6–10 years in product management, including 3+ in payments, banking, or fintech infrastructure.
  • Deep understanding of Direct Debits, including ACH, SEPA Core/B2B, return handling, and risk tiers.
  • Experience with use cases involving account-to-account funding, Request to Pay, or merchant acquiring via non-card rails.
  • Proven track record managing complex roadmaps and launching products across multiple countries.
  • Strong collaboration with engineering, risk, compliance, and go-to-market teams.
  • Ability to balance client urgency, product complexity, and operational constraints.
