The Executive Recruiter is responsible for identifying, attracting and securing top senior level talent that aligns to Cigna's strategic priorities and leadership needs.  They will partner closely with the Business & HR leaders to develop the search strategies, manage the full recruitment lifecycle, and ensure an exceptional candidate and stakeholder experience.  This role requires sounds judgment, discretion and ability to operate effectively in a complex, fast-pace and often ambiguous environment. Additional and detailed responsibilities include:

  • Consult with Senior Business and HR leaders on critical senior talent gaps and drive an effective and efficient talent strategy in support of the business.
  • Understand Business Strategy across the entire Cigna Enterprise, consult on the overall aligned talent strategy and be able to deliver on the executive recruiting strategy.
  • Screen, evaluate and qualify candidates, including conducting in-depth candidate interviews to develop a deep understanding of candidate qualifications and competencies.
  • Deliver candidate summaries, frequent update search progress, and advise on interview and evaluation procedures.
  • Proactively share market and competitive intelligence to inform talent, business and organizational design decisions.
  • Network and build a talent pipeline with senior industry leaders, assess them and ultimately attract the highest skilled and credentialed professionals to join Cigna.
  • Be the primary negotiator and closer with selected candidates.
  • Develop & implement an inclusive sourcing strategy for the business focused on expanding access to diverse talent pipelines and building meaningful partnerships with a wide range of professional and community organizations. 
  • Partner with other HR COEs, as appropriate, to ensure that Cigna is able to attract the necessary talent including; Compensation, Relocation, Employment Law, and Talent Readiness.
  • Provide substantive and competency-based feedback to all unsuccessful candidates. Ensure an exceptional hiring manager and candidate experience.
  • Develop and maintain relevant market intelligence and regularly sharing that intelligence with business leaders to inform optimal business and talent decisions.
  • Maintain understanding of innovative recruitment tools, technologies and best practices.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years direct, relevant and recent experience in recruiting in retained search firm and/or internal corporate organizations required.
  • Experience working on searches focusing on Healthcare Executives strongly preferred with a strong understanding of executive-level roles across the industries.
  • Understanding of legal issues that impact executive recruiting activities, including restrictive covenants required.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Experience working with complex offers with various compensation vehicles required.
  • Exceptional assessment and interviewing skills and a strong command of assessment and selection methodologies, instruments and processes required.
  • Track record of flawless execution and a strong ability to multi-task in a fast paced, deadline-oriented, high-demand environment with tight deliverables.
  • Superb organizational and follow-up skills; ability to prioritize and process a high volume of work for multiple team members while maintaining the highest quality.
  • Successfully work in an environment with high visibility and the ability to manage complex, ambiguous and sensitive situations independently.
  • High level of discretion, professionalism & sound judgment and discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and database systems required.
  • Knowledge of web-based candidate tracking system management and reporting preferred (Workday and Phenom People are strong plus).

Location

This position is located onsite a minimum of 3 days per week in either our Bloomfield, CT; Philadelphia, PA or St. Louis, MO office.


If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
