Job Summary:

The Maintenance/Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair and efficient operation of company building, equipment and grounds. The role ensures that facilities are safe, functional and compliant with all regulations while supporting production. The Manager will lead a team of maintenance technicians, coordinate preventative maintenance programs, manage contractors, vendors and oversee facility upgrades and capital expenditure projects

Key Tasks And Responsibilities:

  • Manages the site maintenance team and PM program for facilities and equipment
  • Manage contractors to ensure projects are completed according to Imerys requirements and budget
  • Work with RAC USA Purchasing Manager for purchases above threshold.
  • Manages current contracts to ensure supplier adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Provide procurement support and assistance for Capital Expense projects.  
  • Analyzes Supplier spend, terms and conditions for opportunities to improve cash flow.
  • Reviews and analyzes store room activities; receiving, parts transactions, cycle counts and inventory investment to maintain critical repair parts and necessary PM items
  • Assesses vendor capabilities, develops and qualifies alternate sources, manages and evaluates supplier performance. 
  • Ensures compliance to Corporate, Business Unit and Purchasing policies and procedures; monitors compliance as required. 
  • Reports monthly and quarterly results of purchasing initiatives, KPI’s and PPV analysis. 
  • Establishes effective Supplier relationships and communications. 
  • Manage supplier packaging inventories at site to ensure proper levels of packaging needs are onsite to prevent operations disruption
  • Through effective leadership, manages the Maintenance Department by establishing appropriate goals, objectives and personal development plans. 
  • Manages the site maintenance team and PM program for facilities and equipment

  • Strong negotiating and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.
  • B.S., Operations/Engineering or related field
  • 3 or more years Supervisory / Management experience required. Preferably in a union setting

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Strong technical understanding and ability to discuss complex technical items with contractor and suppliers
  • Experience utilizing ERP software and demonstrated proficiency with Google applications.
  • Inventory Management Experience

 

Environment:

  • Work is performed in an office environment with coordination activities occasionally being conducted in a factory environment. 
  • The position requires the ability to lift/and carry objects less than 20 lbs; sitting at workstation for moderate periods of time; talking/hearing on a telephone and in-person, vision required for reading and operating a computer.
