We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to lead accounting operations, oversee month-end close, job cost analysis, billing, collections, and cash flow forecasting for our franchises.

 

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the full accounting cycle, including month-end close, job costing, payables, receivables, and financial reporting. This role will work closely with project managers, general managers, and executive leadership to maintain strong financial processes, controls, and reporting that support decision-making and profitable growth.

 

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Close & Financial Reporting

  • Lead and manage the month-end close process to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Develop and maintain job cost reports for project manager and leadership review.
  • Review job estimates and actual costs for accuracy and completeness.
Job Costing & Analytics

  • Ensure all job costs are coded correctly and reconciled against budgets.
  • Partner with project managers to validate cost-to-complete and margin projections.
  • Provide insights and analytics on job performance to support profitability improvement.
Cash Flow Management

  • Prepare and maintain a rolling 13-week cash flow forecast.
  • Align project billings, collections, and supplier payments to optimize cash flow.
Payables, Billing, and Collections

  • Oversee accounts payable to ensure accurate and timely processing, including subtrade reconciliations.
  • Manage accounts receivable and billing process to ensure invoices are issued promptly and collections are monitored.
  • Work with project managers and general managers to resolve outstanding AR issues.
Process Improvement & Controls

  • Strengthen internal controls and accounting processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Train and support project managers and operations staff on job costing and financial procedures.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to shorten month-end close and enhance reporting.
 

Qualifications

  • CPA designation (or CPA candidate) strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in construction, restoration, or job-costing environments.
  • Experience overseeing month-end close, AP/AR, and billing processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks Online and job costing methodology.
 

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition and cost-to-complete accounting.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, advanced formulas).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across operations and finance teams.
Compensation: $85,000.00 per year
