Job Description:

  • The  LC Marine Electronics Engineer (Navigation) (ELEX011) will help provide engineering technical and management support in studying, analyzing, and evaluating engineering problems, and developing solutions. 
  • Support will include assisting in the development of contract documentation and the development of technical plans, specifications, cost estimates relating to the various categories of engineering support services, studies provided, and associated reports.  
  • This position will be part of a contract team to assist in the preparation of a wide range of engineering and feasibility studies, providing engineering and technical support for design review, performance feasibility studies, and designs of ships, boat, and shipboard systems in support of existing and future vessel acquisition programs.

Required Skills And Experiences:

  • Minimum of 6 years’ documented experience developing and integrating Integrated Navigation Systems and Integrated Bridge Systems (including integrating navigation sensors, radars, navigation data distribution systems, navigation electronic charting systems, and alert management), and a minimum of 6 years’ documented experience developing and integrating systems using NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000.
  • Previous experience developing and integrating Navigation Systems that meet the ABS standards, or the analogous guide from any of the worldwide Marine Vessel rules organizations, such as Lloyd's or DNV and/or experience in using navigation systems, as a licensed commercial ship navigator or as part of military duties is preferred.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • A secret security clearance
