Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for development and monitor supplier quality on assigned equipment/products/parts from supplier selection, approval, and qualification phase to final inspections in order to verify product compliance with technical and quality requirements.
Supplier Quality Engineer will be working in collaboration with Engineering, Sourcing, Procurement, Manufacturing and Project teams to support various Aeroderivative turbine projects in GE Vernova Gas Power business (new equipment and service). Depending on the workload, as needed, the scope of the role can be extended to similar products for Heavy Duty Gas Turbine projects.
SQE is working in collaboration with Engineering, Sourcing, Procurement and Project teams to support various project types in GE Gas Power business (New Unit, CM&U Services & Aero BoP).
Job Description
What You’Ll Do
- Support the supplier selection & on-boarding process including assessment of supplier’s capacity and technical & manufacturing capabilities through holistic process audits and lead/execute first piece qualifications including design reviews, special process audits, test witness, and in-process and final product inspections.
- Support supplier assessment and development, contributing to supplier performance ratings, leading quarterly supplier quality review meetings, and initiating supplier quality improvement plans when appropriate.
- Work with Engineering in leading supplier project kick-off meetings, developing supplier surveillance plans, executing supplier requirement review & design review meetings, and developing/reviewing supplier inspection/test plans & special process procedures.
- Plan & execute a data & risk assessment driven audit strategy for your scope of supplier assignments that includes holistic process audits, special process audits and product inspections to verify compliance to GE specifications & technical regulations/standards with timely audit report issuance and audit tracker updates.
- Support the release of material for shipment by ensuring all supplier deviation requests are closed, reviewing end of manufacturing reports, verifying the shipment is unaffected by any containment activity.
- Actively manage supplier technical deviations, non-conformances, & field complaints, through dedicated follow up on supplier audit findings, leading Root Cause Analysis with rigorous follow up on Corrective and Preventive Action Implementation/effectiveness, conducting thorough containment, supporting vendor recovery.
- Actively support and drive all supplier quality improvement initiatives including the planning, execution, CAPA follow-up and report issuance of supplier holistic audits, supporting supplier PFMEA/DFMEA development, supporting supplier implementation of the designated supplier quality representative (DSQR) program.
- Relentlessly monitor and manage all supplier quality key process indicators (KPI) by dedicated review of the daily management dashboard and timely updates to the KPI.
What You’Ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials or Quality Engineering, or equivalent technical field from an accredited university or college.
- 5+ year working experience in quality, operations/supply chain or project management, preferably in Power Generation industry, with proficiency to understand technical drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes involved in the production of the intended assigned equipment (e.g. casting, forging, welding, heat treatment, coating, machining, assembly, NDT, as applicable).
- Strong safety, compliance, quality, and lean mindset, with proven use of the industrial quality toolkit for risk assessment, root cause analysis, problem solving, and manufacturing process controls.
- Capacity to organize working time in global team setting and willingness to adjust it based on meetings with stakeholders in different time zones and flexibility/willingness to travel to supplier facilities up to 30%.

- Master's degree in manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials or Quality Engineering, or equivalent technical field from an accredited university or college.
- You possess excellent written and verbal English language skills, allowing effective communication across all organizational levels, departments, and functions.
- You are someone who is competent and skilled in the interpretation of engineering drawings & standards.
- You hold certifications in special processes such as coatings (NACE), welding (CWI), non-destructive testing (NDT Level 1-3) and/or certifications/evidence of training in problem solving methodologies (5-why, 8D root cause analysis) and quality management systems such as ISO 9001:2015) lead auditor training.
- You are someone who is proactive, not easily discouraged, humble, open, collaborative, diligent, respectful, assertive, customer focused, goal oriented with a passion for continuous personal growth/improvement.
