HSEQ Advisor – Northern Region (QLD)
We are seeking a HSEQ Advisor to join our team on a full-time basis based at Wolffdene Quarry in Yatala. Reporting to the Regional HSEQ Manager, this role will provide support in the day-to-day management of HSEQ related activities across several operations within our business, including our Concrete & Asphalt plants, Quarries, Workshops, Laboratories, and on customer sites where required.
This role will suit a hands-on, team orientated, practical thinking and self-motivated individual that would like to further their HSEQ career in the Construction Materials Industry. The successful applicant will be open to work across various times and be able to travel between sites in all parts of the region during the working week.
Key Activities:
- Provide advice and coaching to site/operational managers in the identification, assessment and control of risks in line with the contents of the Integrated Risk Management Systems (IRMS),
- Engage with front line personnel both formally (via audits) and informally (interact and show leadership while on site) Identify and report on levels of conformance to internal systems and support stakeholders on the continuous improvement journey,
- Assist with the delivery of training related to site HSEQ activities in line with the National training plan,
- Assist with record keeping of employee & contractor training, competency assessments, skills & qualifications,
- Lead the investigation of HSE incidents
- Assist and support Site Leaders in the delivery of HSEQ related material at site meetings,
- Support front line leaders with Injury Management needs and work with WorkCover Qld to rehabilitate injured personnel,
- Analyze information and data to provide recommendations around areas of non-compliance to internal and external requirements,
- Raise events within the HSEQ database to ensure information captured is accurate, actions applied to close gaps are appropriate, and close outs occur in a timely manner
About You:
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills that align with the company Values of Care, Collaboration, and Ownership,
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in WHS/Environment co-ordination or similar role in a high-risk industry with experience in the quarry industry being highly valued.
- The capability to influence varying levels of internal and external stakeholders and deliver transformational change within a complex business environment,
- Certificate 4 or above in OHS / WHS (or be willing to obtain within a reasonable timeframe)
- Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment (or be willing to obtain within a reasonable timeframe)
- Lead Auditor experience and Qualification (or be willing to obtain within a reasonable timeframe)
- ICAM Lead Investigator experience and qualification (or be willing to obtain within a reasonable timeframe)
- Be reliable with the ability to work independently and autonomously,
- Have a positive attitude, willingness to learn and desire to work with others in a team environment to achieve personal and team goals that are aligned to National objectives,
- Be a confident user of the Microsoft Office suite of programs and database systems with SAP experience being extremely desirable,
