Position Summary
The Social Media Manager will play a key role in shaping and executing the organization’s social media strategy. This position focuses on turning existing raw content — including leadership and project footage — into compelling, high-impact digital assets. The ideal candidate is a strong executor who can plan, create, schedule, and optimize content while collaborating closely with a video editor and other creative partners.

- Schedule: Monday to Friday | 8 AM to 5 PM (UK Time)
- Holidays: To be discussed but most likely UK Holidays
Key Responsibilities:
Content Execution & Management
- Transform raw video and photo materials into platform-ready content (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube).
- Plan and maintain a comprehensive content calendar, ensuring consistent and timely posting across all channels.
- Write engaging captions, headlines, and post copy that reflect brand tone and messaging.
- Coordinate with a video editor to deliver finished assets on schedule and aligned with campaign objectives.
- Repurpose long-form content (e.g., interviews, events) into short-form, high-performing social content.
Social Media Strategy & Growth
- Implement social media strategies that support brand awareness, audience growth, and engagement goals.
- Identify trends, hashtags, and opportunities for community interaction and viral growth.
- Manage day-to-day activity across all platforms, including content uploads, tagging, and performance tracking.
- Build and engage with the community through timely responses, comments, and direct messages.
Performance & Analytics
- Monitor KPIs such as reach, engagement, click-through rates, and follower growth.
- Generate regular performance reports and recommend data-driven improvements.
- A/B test different content formats, captions, or posting times to optimize results.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams (creative, video, design, or communications) to align content with campaigns.
- Support organizational announcements, initiatives, and events with social media coverage.
- Maintain brand consistency across all visual and written content.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Multimedia Arts, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience as a Social Media Manager, Content Manager, or Digital Marketing Specialist.
- Proficient in social media management tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, Later, Buffer).
- Skilled in using Canva or similar design tools for quick graphics and layouts.
- Strong copywriting skills with attention to tone, clarity, and engagement.
- Experience collaborating with video editors or content producers.
- Familiarity with analytics platforms (Meta Insights, Google Analytics, etc.).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Nice To Have:
- Experience in nonprofit, advocacy, or humanitarian communications.
- Basic knowledge of video editing software (e.g., CapCut, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
- Understanding of SEO for social media, paid ads, and boosted post campaigns.
- Graphic design or motion-graphics experience (Figma, Adobe Suite, etc.).
