Job vacancies: Quality Assurance Engineer

Your responsibility will be to perform testing for IT deliveries and contribute to the establishment of development standards of test scripts as well as enhancements of testing activities, according to customer requirements, standards, quality, and costs.

In this role you will, 

• Participate in requirements gathering/preparation at onset and contribute to story preparation and acceptance with a view of facilitating the delivery in line with the key quality metrics;
• Continuously work towards refining the testing approach to ensure that customer service standards are being met whilst ensuring that stakeholders are promptly informed of any justified delay;
• Follow up on the KPIs [correctness of data, test execution result etc…] of the testing automation with the stakeholders to ensure that QA tasks have been successfully completed;
• Monitor automated testing tools pertaining to systems being developed/maintained within the squad to ensure that the software meets the acceptance criteria on all devices and platforms;
• Write automated functional tests, which will be executed regularly to ensure that the software behaves as expected and that new functionality does not negatively impact previously delivered and working software;
• Deliver as per agreed roadmap by following- up on automation activities, centralization of test scripts, implementation of a unique testing tool, etc for continuous improvement and enhanced efficiency;
• Perform testing planning on Quality Assurance (QA) environment and UAT coordination for different projects and change requests and provide relative feedback [successful/failed tests cases] to team to ensure that the testing environments are up to standards and fully integrated;   
• Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of systems development efforts and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and reduce testing effort;
• Collaborate with other IT teams to review the way IT developments are being delivered in order to enhance the quality of the test scripts and make the deliveries more predictable with automation;
• Comply with all relevant laws, codes, rules, regulations, procedures and standards of best working practice in order to minimise financial loss and protect the reputation of the MCB Group;
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders in the review/definition of user stories and provide appropriate and cost-effective solutions / alternatives to preserve the bank’s best interests and promote alignment to the bank’s established strategies and/or mandates;
• Live and display the MCB brand and values in all daily activities, in order to uphold and further strengthen the MCB brand internally and externally;
• Promote and consolidate a positive working atmosphere to enhance employees' motivation, commitment for sustained high productivity.

We are looking for candidates who has a minimum of:

• A Completed Degree in IT or equivalent;
• 1-2 years’ working experience in a similar position or in an IT related field;
• Experience in the banking sector is an advantage.

A combination of both qualification & experience will be considered.
